Happy Mother's Day!

Wow!  What a weekend this has been - very celebratory!  Went out Friday night with George and had a great time other than the fact that my Canucks lost.  After we picked the boys up at Tracy and Brian's, we came home and had cake and they gave me my present...

Yesterday, I had to get up at a reasonable time and was off to work for the day, but had plans with my friends, Jill and Jacquie, for the evening.  We all have birthdays within a couple of weeks, so it was a good excuse to celebrate!  They spoiled me with a gift card for the store I work in and got me dinner as well!  They had to embarrass me by getting the staff to sing Happy Birthday and added the "40" in there as well!  We had a fabulous night!

Today is, of course, Mother's day, so I slept until about 8am and then we got up and ready and headed out for breakfast.  By the time we got there it was really brunch anyway since it was about 9:45!  We tried one place that was too busy and then tried Denny's and only waited 5 minutes - perfect!  We went and got something for our mums after that and I had one more card to make as well.  I used the new October Afternoon papers that I just got yesterday to do the card for my mum!

And the two that I'm lucky enough to be called Mummy by...

And a very special extra HUGE thank you to the wonderful woman that I'm proud to call my mum!  I can't even begin to put into words how special you are or what you mean to me...  You're a very special woman!  I love you more than words can say!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers I know...  And an extra special shout out to my mum, MIL, sister (Tracy - in the picture above) and my wonderful grandmothers as well...  Enjoy your day and hope it's special!

We're going out for dinner tonight and might try and catch some of the game as well before we're headed off to see The Eagles tonight!!  Yeah!!

Have a wonderful Sunday,

Happy Birthday to ME!

OK, so today really is my birthday and, yes it's the big 40!  It has been a beautiful sunny day and wonderful to this point.  I only had my boys today since Tracy kept Matthew and Sophia at home today.  That really meant it was Nathan and I since we dropped Kyle at school this morning.

My friend, Maria, suggested taking the kids to play at this open gym thing at the rec centre, so we did that and then she treated me to sushi for lunch too!  It was a great morning!

Courtesy of my lovely husband, George, this is what I saw when I ran to the car to take Nathan out this morning.  Of course, I was meeting Maria and Tracy there, so I was running late and was out and about half the day with this on the car.

Also had my mum, mother in law and my sister and her kids sing to me today!  Matthew was so cute saying Happy Birthday!

Went and treated myself to a half price Frappuccino while taking the kids to Tracy's place and then came home to an hour at home alone!  Yeah!  George just got home and we're heading out for dinner and to watch the Canucks game!  Can't wait!

Have a great weekend!

A Froggie Card

I was playing with another Scrapdango challenge and pulled out these great stickers by Penny Black for a quick and easy card!  No colouring required!  I love this Imaginisce Lucy Bird paper (scroll down on link) and that lovely ribbon!

For anyone local, keep yours eyes out for another class using these fabulous stickers!  I think I might have something up my sleeve!

Not too much going on around here today - lots of little things!  Kyle went to school and then I was on duty at preschool this morning, so that was half the day gone.  Nathan and I came home for lunch and then I wanted a new top to wear for the Mother's Day Tea at preschool on Wednesday morning, so the two of us went and did a quick shop.  It was easy because I'd seen a top I thought would work and it did!  We went to The Marble Slab Creamery for an ice cream treat since he was so good.  Then it was home for bit and some chores done before we walked up to get Kyle from school.

The boys wanted to play for a while so we hung out and played.  I didn't see it, but Nathan and a friend of Kyle's managed to fall somehow and Nathan was complaining about his leg hurting.  He seemed fine after a couple of minutes and was off playing again.  As we were walking home, I thought I saw a bump and red on his head...  sure enough!  He has a scratch (big, red one) and a goose egg, but never said a word about his head hurting!  I checked it again when we came home and I gave him some Advil and put some ice on it and he's fine!  Just keep an eye on him...

This is what we'll be doing tonight...  watching the Canucks play!  Can't wait for this game to start!  It seems like so long to wait between games and I'm not expecting it's going to be a 5-1 blowout for us like the last game!  Bring it on!

Better go run and start dinner and get some more chores done before the game starts!

I scrapped on NSD!

Well, Happy National Scrapbooking Day to all my scrappy friends!  There are all kinds of games and challenges going on all over the place!

I was trying to get in on some challenges today since it turned out (surprisingly!) that I'm home.  I wanted to try the one hour layout challenge that Scrapdango was doing for their "Be Inspired" Crop this weekend.  I got the layout done and was all good on time until...  the computer decided it wasn't going to cooperate!  I had to reboot the computer twice (for whatever reason?!) before I got the pictures off my camera though I did miss the one hour deadline as a result.

The good news is that I scrapped some of my own pictures today and had fun doing it!  The challenge was to be inspired by one of a couple of clock images that the host posted.  That's where all the brads came from and then we needed to use ribbon (ric rac for me) and more than one font.  Love me my Thickers and chipboard lettering (in this case from Basic Grey)!

Have a great day and be sure to cheer very, very loudly for the Canucks tonight!  We're going to be kicking some Blackhawk butt here in the next bit though I have no illusions about it being a cakewalk!  Think it should be fun hockey to watch!  Enjoy!

Have a fabulous weekend!
Cheers,
