October WeScrap Kit

The big reveal for the October WeScrap kit Fall Festival is today and you should check out all the amazing work going into the gallery!

I had fun working with all the amazing goodies in this kit and it was wonderful to get to some of my own scrapping again after being so busy with classes!

I worked yesterday and then came home to a fabulous Thanksigiving dinner cooked by my darling hubby!  Tracy, Brian and the kids came over for dinner as well and brought the pumpkin pie!  It was a nice evening and we have so very many reasons to be thankful that is was wonderful to be able to celebrate together.

A fabulous Thanksgiving Monday to everyone!  Enjoy!

Scrapperie's Latest Kit

I was lucky enough to be one of the people up for design work this month with the fabulous Farmer's Market kit from Scrapperie. Sandi actually designed two kits for the first time this morning , so you should go and take a look at the other, Fruit Salad, as well! Here was the work that was part of the reveal yesterday...

I had a lot of fun with this and will have some more up soon with any luck! There don't seem to be enough hours in a day these days, but I'd like to do some more scrapbooking for myself. I'm teaching 8 classes next month though as well, so that's going to keep me busy for sure! I'll post some more on that later as well!

I'm off to work again here a little later this morning. Just relaxing with Kyle and having my coffee. Nathan is shockingly still asleep and George is, of course, sleeping in today!

We had a fun day yesterday after I got home from teaching in the morning. I had my Get 'Em Scrapped class in the morning, which Tracy came to as well the wonderful women who regularly take that class, so that was fun. I puttered around work with some other class stuff for a while, including an order of Jenni Bowlin that I'm very excited about, and then managed to get myself home in time for us to go back out! I wolfed down a sandwich when I got home and we were off out the door again to the airport!

Because George works for the city, we were able to get a ride on the new Canada Line Skytrain out to the airport before it officially opens Monday! They had all kinds of things going on as well - a Lego version of a Skytrain station, a food bank donation area (which we even remembered some things for!), a free teddy bear for the kids and ice cream for everyone as well as the Skytrain ride! It was fun and it really is amazing how much of it is underground. It'll be interesting to see how much it gets used by regular riders once it's open. We had a fun time and then headed back home with a stop at Denny's since kids eat free on Tuesdays and Saturdays!

So, I managed to get a little work done in the morning and still had a fun day with George and the boys! Today will be a full day at work though and hopefully a relaxing evening. I've been reading some of the Big Brother blogs (yes, I'm watching again! lol) and it sounds like the house has blown up emotionally since the last show and one girl even got booted, so we'll see what they actually show tonight!
Have a fabulous Sunday everyone!

Scrapperie's Latest Kit

OK, I've been bad with my blogging and not posting scrappy stuff in the last while though I've been doing it, so here's the work I did with the June Scrapperie kit called Salon de The (sorry, don't know how to get the accent above the "e" for the French!).

This is a close-up so you can see that I added pearls and glitter to the centers of some of the flowers! One of those things that looks much better in person!

This is about our frustration in potty training Nathan as he's the most stubborn child you've ever met when it comes to this! I just keep telling myself that he has to get it someday!

I also did 2 cards with this kit and love how both of them came out!

Well, I have more with this kit too, but will post it another time! You can check out some of the amazing work that the other Tres Chic Girls did with this kit HERE!

You should check out the July kit - English Garden too!

A quiet day!

Well, with the boys still at the tail end of their bugs, we stayed at home and hung out today. Nathan napped this afternoon and I got a few things done.

Just a quick post tonight with a couple more creations from the February Scrapdango kit!

Think I'm going to make it an early night since I'm working tomorrow! The boys are going to stay at Nana and Grandpa's tomorrow night though!

Cheers,

PS Remember about the blog candy and that any comments on any post until the 22nd get you an entry!

Scrapdango Reveal Day!

Yes, it's reveal day again over at Scrapdango, so here are three pieces I did with the fabulous February kit full of Kaiser Craft goodies!

There's more to come, but with being sick, I haven't been able to finish off what I've got going. My throat is sore now and I'm worried about that since the last time that happened, I couldn't talk for 2 weeks! I have 2 classes to teach this week!!

Well, took George to work so that Kyle could go to the party he was invited to today. It was at one of those play places, so I took Nathan as well and we just stayed there. It wasn't really long enough for me to just leave Kyle and I wasn't sure how he'd do without me there. I'm exhausted though and would like to be in bed, but instead, I'm off to get George from work here shortly. And then it'll be off to bed for me... and another supposedly full day tomorrow too!

Cheers,

A little of this...

...and a little of that! Well, it's been one of those days where I've been sort of all over the map, but got quite a bit done in the long run! I'm even pretty much ready to go to work tonight and know what I'm going to make for dinner.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned papers from October Afternoon, Bo Bunny and Basic Grey Journaling block is October Afternoon. Buttons are Foofala. Rub-ons are Scenic Route. Stickers for the title are Basic Grey and American Crafts Vinyl Thickers. "Good Stuff" sticker is October Afternoon. Chipboard heart is Making Memories and paint for it is also Making Memories. Misc ribbon from the kit. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber.

I did this layout with the Scrapperie Apple Orchard kit that I simply LOVE! It was a sample layout for the Stash Crasher Challenge that I just posted over at WeScrap for their Love Fest Online Crop this weekend! Come on over and check it out!

Nathan begged me to make muffins again this morning (the second day in a row!), so this is my picture of the day!

Funny how a single day puts such a different perspective on things though I even felt better after blogging last night and looked at all the wonderful little parts of my day that had felt so long and awful!

Better go try and finish off a few more things before I have to head out!

A Scrappy Afternoon

Well, things were quiet for a bit around here this afternoon because I decided to see if Kyle wanted a rest while Nathan had his nap. Kyle didn't have a great sleep last night, so I thought he might be tired and sure enough, he fell asleep almost right away. Since it was quiet, I thought I'd try one of the Scrapperie weekly challenges that also currently count for the Scrap-A-Lympics Contest that they're doing!

This was a lift challenge of Beth Price and I used my Estate Sale Scrapperie kit.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is MME 29th Street. Clock die cut is MME. Lettering for title is Making Memories (small lettering) and American Crafts foam Thickers. The acrylic pieces are Maya Road. Misc. buttons. Ribbon is American Crafts. Ink for distressing is Palette Burnt Umber. Pen used was American Crafts Slick Writer.

Maybe I'll get a chance to do something scrappy again tonight with any luck!

Kyle is doing OK though still has his ups and downs. Every time I think we've turned a corner, we seem to take a step back, but I think that's normal. He doesn't want to eat a lot yet, but we're working on it slowly with some soft foods and hope that little by little it keeps improving. We have an appt with the doctor that did the surgery on Thursday for a check-up too to make sure all's well.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

"Kiss" layout

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Scenic Route. Lettering is Heidi Swapp Chipboard. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Journaling tag and "authentic" tag are MME. Brads are Queen and Co. Sticker lettering for "kiss" is Making Memories. Stamps from Hero Arts, Daisy Bucket, Kelly Panacci for Sandylion, and Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations.

Well, I finally managed to get a layout done last night with all the wonderful goodies in the amazing Scrapperie kit this month - The Lake House. Every time I think Sandi can't outdo herself with the kits, she does!

Journaling: Nathan just walked up to me, Easter basket full of plastic eggs on his arm, and all he said was one little word that melts my heart every time, "Kiss".

Not too much going on this weekend for us since I worked Friday night, all day yesterday and then again today! I hope to just come home tonight and take it easy... Who knows, might even get a little more scrapbooking done?!

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

A random memory...

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill and SEI. Patterned paper is SEI Dill Blossom. Flower is Making Memories. Scalloped ribbon is Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Chipboard lettering is Heidi Swapp. Blue ink is Versacolour Blue Lagoon. Distressing ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Stamps on title lettering are Autumn Leaves. Versamark Stamp pad. Embossing Powder (Clear) is PSX.

This is a layout of me as a kid for my "Random Memories" album. Since I don't have my own scrapbook of when I was a kid, I'm using pictures to write down things I remember. I used my Scrapperie May kit - La Cage aux Folles. This is also my entry for the Guest Designer at Scrapdango where Terri invited me to hang out with the fun ladies there! Thanks for making me feel so welcome and at home ladies!

The journaling reads:
As I was gently brushing my hand across Kyle's head over and over one night at bedtime recently, I realized that mum doing this to me seems to be one of my first real memories of her. Whenever I was sick or needed comforting, I'd lie down and she'd brush her hand across my forehead again and again. She's done this for as long as I can remember and always has. It somehow always seemed to make things better...

For the chipboard title, I inked the letters in Versacolour Blue Lagoon ink first and then stamped over them with the Autumn Leaves flourish stamps in Palette Burnt Umber. Then, I put Versamark on them and embossed them. This was the first time I'd tried doing it and I love the result! Always fun to play with something new!

Well, not too much else going on right now other than I need to go get something together quick for dinner! I'll post some more pictures of day either later on or tomorrow since I'm trying to do the Twelve of Twelve thing! Better run for now...

Another layout and card!

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper and journaling block are Deja Views. Title stickers are Doodlebug. TItle rub-ons are Making Memories. Chipboard cirle tag is YMBD. Paint is Making Memories. Misc. ribbon, brads and staples.

Supplies: Misc cardstock. Patterned paper and tag and Deja Views. Rub-on greeting is Making Memories. Ink is Versacolour Baby Blue. Deco Scissors for scalloping are Provo Craft.

These are a couple of recent projects. This was all pretty much done with goodies from my Scrapperie Glad Tidings Kit and was a fun and quick one to do. Just did a card with the leftovers!

Not too much going on around here. Worked until 10 last night though I actually thought I was working until midnight!! I'm on again at 1 - 6:30 today for a cover shift and then hopefully a relaxing evening.

Think we're going to my parent's tomorrow for dinner, so that'll be nice. On Monday it's off to resign mortgage paperwork!!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Scrapperie Kit Layout

OK, so I got the fabulous May Scrapperie kit called La Cage aux Folles and this bit you see here is just the Essentials kit and you can add the Trimmings and/or The Extras as well.

Things have been so crazy that I had to apologize to Sandi for not being more on top of getting some layouts/work done with the kit, but this is the first one I did with some pictures that Tracy took of Sophia almost 2 years ago now! They're too funny! I used one of Ally's sketches from http://www.sosketchy.blogspot.com/ as my inspiration too!

Supplies: Patterned paper (base) is Anna Griffin. Other patterned paper is Crate Paper. Cardstock is Bazzill. Stamps are Autumn Leaves. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Gems are Making Memories and Hero Arts. Rhinestone and flower brads are Making Memories. Bird and flowers are Crate Paper. Title lettering is Doodlebug and Making Memories (small lettering).

You should check out this thread at Scrapperie and see all the amazing work that the ladies there have done! Fabulous!

Dance Fever!

Did this layout this afternoon for a challenge at Scrapbook Heaven. I also used my current Scrapperie kit called Spring Break. The idea for the ribbon came from Jennifer McGuire's 101 Things You Can Do With Your Scrapbook Supplies (pg 33). The title is Making Memories foam stamps that I used paint with and cut out and then outlined and put Stickles on. Had fun with this for sure and just played and tried some things I hadn't done before.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket. Misc ribbon. Title and paint for the title are Making Memories stamps and paint. Used Stickles on top and an American Crafts Slick Writer to outline them. Rub-ons are Creative Imagainations.

Yeah OK, that picture was taken a few years ago and we were probably rockin' out to Rod Stewart or something, but it totally reminds me of my mum and being a kid dancing around the house! I was so happy to have found this picture just because I figured it was one of those silly everyday things that I'd never find on film! Little things make me happy!

Well, off to work here again tonight and it's probablt going to be a busy one because of the weekend crop the store is hosting! We have all that going on as well as a crop in the store. Good thing there's extra staff on tonight!

Another everyday layout!

Used my Scrapperie Spring Break kit to do an everyday layout and what all the things on the table say about our life. This was a picture from Nov '06, so things are already so much different! I actually couldn't find the picture on my computer, but because I blogged it, I managed to get a print from that and just my blog entry as the journaling!

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket. Circular paper is KI Memories Lace Cardstock. Felt is Fancy Pants. Title is American Crafts Thickers and Basic Grey Boxer sticker lettering.

The journaling reads:
I had to laugh when I looked at this table the other day. I was sitting feeding Nathan and this table is beside Nathan's high chair. It's one that Kyle sometimes sits at, but it also seems to collect general stuff too.

So, on the table, there are flyers for a furnace guy since we need ours cleaned. There are cloths, bibs and a plate and spoon from feeding Nathan. There are also Nathan's snacks and leftover yogurt containers from both Kyle and Nathan. There are Kyle's new scissors we got him to teach him how to use. He and Daddy were doing some Halloween decorations with them, so there's also tape on the table from that. Of course, there are the regular crayons (in the pumpkin bucket) and paper that are on the table for Kyle's creative endeavours. There's also a take-out menu for a Chinese food place near us that we've been talking about trying forever and never have.

Funny that these things sort of sum up my day to day life these days! Not sad about that in the least.

I'm not saying that there aren't days that I miss work and being around more people, especially considering the social type of job I have, but there really isn't anything better that being able to spend my time with the boys. They both seem to be changing so quickly. If only we could get rid of these colds we've got again and get out and do a few things to help keep all of us sane!
Blogged Nov 2nd, 2006

Hope you're having a great day!

Wording stickers in the top right are by Bo-Bunny, Reminisce, Creative Imaginations, and the definition is Making Memories. Misc Magic Mesh.

Great Mail Day and a New Layout!

OK, so this lovely package of goodies called The Journey Home from Scrapperie showed up on my doorstep today! I think I scared the mailman though with the state of myself being in my very casual clothes and not looking so hot since I'm still sick. I did apologize! Not only did this come, but a prize package from winning an avatar challenge and 2 of the Vintage Ltd kits: Boys Will Be Boys and Summer Cabin.

This kit is so full of scrappy goodness that I can't begin to tell you! Even though I'm sick, I managed to get inspired enough to try one of the sketches that are included every month in the kit as a little bonus as well!
Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Sandylion and Autumn Leaves Manhattan Collection. The "stitching" is one of the Kelly Panacci by Sandylion stickers. Felt is Fancy Pants. Metal "fun" embellishment is Making Memories. Title is L'il Davis rub-ons and American Crafts Thickers. Date is a Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations rub-on and the making Memories Magnetic date stamp. Misc flat top eyelets. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Pen is Creative Memories.

Well, I'm sure you'll be seeing lots more of this kit in the next while! So much stuff packed into it and that fun little chipboard house that I need to try!

Well, starting to slow down a little now after managing to get a few things done around the house today too. I think it's leftovers and a salad for dinner though! I might just have to watch The Bachelor - Where Are They Now too tonight for a little laugh!

Better go for now!
Cheers,
Colleen
