"Kiss" layout

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Scenic Route. Lettering is Heidi Swapp Chipboard. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Journaling tag and "authentic" tag are MME. Brads are Queen and Co. Sticker lettering for "kiss" is Making Memories. Stamps from Hero Arts, Daisy Bucket, Kelly Panacci for Sandylion, and Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations.

Well, I finally managed to get a layout done last night with all the wonderful goodies in the amazing Scrapperie kit this month - The Lake House. Every time I think Sandi can't outdo herself with the kits, she does!

Journaling: Nathan just walked up to me, Easter basket full of plastic eggs on his arm, and all he said was one little word that melts my heart every time, "Kiss".

Not too much going on this weekend for us since I worked Friday night, all day yesterday and then again today! I hope to just come home tonight and take it easy... Who knows, might even get a little more scrapbooking done?!

Have a great Sunday everyone!!

YITL "Free" Challenge

Supplies: Misc cardstock. Stamps by Autumn Leaves (journaling) and Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Ink was Palette Noir Black and Versacolor Cardinal. Stickers by SRM, Provo Craft, MAMBI, and Doodlebug.

This is another one of Suzanne's blog challenges for a "Year In The Life". The challenge is always a single word and this week was "free", so with Canada Day coming up here on July 1st, I decided to do something related to that and my pride in being Canadian!

Not too much else going on here today really. The kids are all in bed, at least temporarily, since Kyle's just having a "rest". At least it gives me 20 minutes to myself and he may just fall asleep today since he got up so early! Sophia's not having the best day since she was tired and she also has a viral rash (checked by the doctor this morning to make sure it wasn't anything else and that it wasn't contagious!). The kids weren't working together very well and it seemed to be a long, tearful morning...

I'm off to work a little later, but only 6-10 since I work all weekend too. Too bad since this is the beginning of George's 2 weeks off!! Oh well, we'll have the next couple of weeks!

Happy Father's Day DAD!

I'm not even sure how to go about describing my dad and how wonderful he is. He's strong and supportive, but also loving and compassionate. He set the bar pretty high for my expectations in terms of a husband and father that's for sure.

There are so many times when he's gone above and beyond for us. I always knew he wanted the best for me and was there when I needed him to be. The above picture was on one of the many amazing trips we went on as a family when Tracy and I were kids. I don't know how to begin to thank you dad for everything...

I'm afraid I'll be honest in saying that I didn't get organized enough to get a card in the mail for Father's Day, but the sentiment is the same - I LOVE YOU!

I just want you to know how much I love you and that I'm thinking about you!

Happy Father's Day!!

This is the card that I managed to do early this morning for George since I hadn't done anything for him either. It was inspired by a card by Julia Stainton in the most recent issue of Stamp It! cards. I had so much fun doing this for my darling hubby who's such an amazing dad too!

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is DCWV and Carolee's Creations. Chipboard star is Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Stamps and EK Success (Happy Father's Day) and Studio G. Ink is Versacolour Lagoon Blue and Rubber Stampede Black. Embossing powder is PSX.

The boys have been busy working on cards for George this morning too and I'll try and post them later!

A day at work...

Well, I'm afraid there's not all that much to report today since I spent the day at work. George actually took me to work so that he could have the car because the park he's been working on for the last week or so formally opened today. They had a community get-together and it sounded like there was quite a bit going on.

Of course, Kyle and George are telling me all the fun things they did when they came to pick me up. I find out that Nathan was sitting in a fire truck! Now, you'll notice I don't have any pictures posted and that would be because George didn't take the camera!! Ahhhhh... Oh well, another time. They certainly sounded like they had fun anyway.

We stopped on the way home to get some groceries for our Father's Day breakfast. We're making breakfast at home so that we can do it leisurely and not have to stand in line. Daddy will, of course, get to sleep in though first!

Well, guess I'll head to bed here since there's nothing more exciting I can tell you got the time being!

Year in the Life Challenge #24

OK, so I'm a little late to the game on this one, but it's so much fun I'm going to try and get caught up anyway! Suzanne is doing this and the idea is you do a card a week based on a single word. I'm using jumbo cards for this and she said that if it takes longer than 15 minutes, you're doing something wrong. So...I picked up my card this afternoon and grabbed what was closest on my desk and came up with this one and had soooo much fun doing it! The base supplies came from this month's Scrapperie kit!

Supplies: Paper is SEI as well as small flower in bottom left. Stamps are Autumn Leaves, Kelly Panacci for Sandylion, Hero Arts and 3 Bugs. Sticker title is Doodlebug. Rub-ons are Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Journaling pen is by American Crafts. Small sticker letters are Making Memories. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber.

Well, Nathan just got up, so I'd better run! Work tonight, but only until 10!

A random memory...

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill and SEI. Patterned paper is SEI Dill Blossom. Flower is Making Memories. Scalloped ribbon is Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Chipboard lettering is Heidi Swapp. Blue ink is Versacolour Blue Lagoon. Distressing ink is Palette Burnt Umber. Stamps on title lettering are Autumn Leaves. Versamark Stamp pad. Embossing Powder (Clear) is PSX.

This is a layout of me as a kid for my "Random Memories" album. Since I don't have my own scrapbook of when I was a kid, I'm using pictures to write down things I remember. I used my Scrapperie May kit - La Cage aux Folles. This is also my entry for the Guest Designer at Scrapdango where Terri invited me to hang out with the fun ladies there! Thanks for making me feel so welcome and at home ladies!

The journaling reads:
As I was gently brushing my hand across Kyle's head over and over one night at bedtime recently, I realized that mum doing this to me seems to be one of my first real memories of her. Whenever I was sick or needed comforting, I'd lie down and she'd brush her hand across my forehead again and again. She's done this for as long as I can remember and always has. It somehow always seemed to make things better...

For the chipboard title, I inked the letters in Versacolour Blue Lagoon ink first and then stamped over them with the Autumn Leaves flourish stamps in Palette Burnt Umber. Then, I put Versamark on them and embossed them. This was the first time I'd tried doing it and I love the result! Always fun to play with something new!

Well, not too much else going on right now other than I need to go get something together quick for dinner! I'll post some more pictures of day either later on or tomorrow since I'm trying to do the Twelve of Twelve thing! Better run for now...

In His Own Words...

A sad day for Canucks fans...

Anyone that knows me at all knows that I'm not only a Canucks fan, but a Trevor Linden fan through and through. This is a sad day for me! I'd have loved to have seen him play one more time, but I certainly understand why he's saying enough is enough.

He's one of those people that isn't just a hockey player, but an ambassador for his sport, his team and the city itself. I truly respect all of the amazing work he's done both on and off the ice! I wish him nothing but the best!
I'll miss you Trevor...

This is so cool!

OK, here's a fun little thing for scrappers if you're stuck on what colours to use! I was browsing blogs yesterday and found the link to this on Patter's blog. The above is just one of their samples, but you can upload any of your pictures and it'll give you colour matches! How cool is that?! It's one of the things on Big Huge Labs and it's called the Palette Generator. Go and try it out!

Get Your Scrap On Blog Challenge

The challenge this week at Get Your Scrap On was with a sketch and the design team was asked to create a card and a layout based on the same design, so here's the sketch and both of my projects!

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper and sticker are Cosmo Cricket's "Get Happy" line. Versamark stamp pad. Embossing Power is by Stampendous. Stamp is by Hero Arts.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket's "Get Happy" line. Sticker is Cosmo Cricket. Arrow is Creative Cafe by Creative Imaginations. Happy Face Stamp is by Gelatins. Ink is Palette Black. Border Stamps are Kelly Panacci for SandyLion. Title is American Crafts Thickers chipboard. Journaling is done with an American Crafts Slick Writer.

Pretty much everything from these projects came from April's Scrapperie kit called Spring Break. The colours in this kit are prefect for boy layouts and I love the fun stuff in it!

Park Play

Kyle was dying to go to the park near my parent's place ever since my mu told him they'd put in a new one. We hadn't been out to their place for a bit, but went last night for dinner. Of course, Nathan fell asleep in the car which I hadn't wanted, but we laid him down when we got there hoping he would nap anyway. Kyle immediately asked to go to the park. Since Nathan was calming down and George was going to be there anyway, mum, Tracy and I went to the park with Kyle!

He was hilarious and full of energy! He kept calling "Action" for mum and I to take pictures of him since she had her camera too. There were actually quite a few kids playing up there too since the weather wasn't too bad again. I also got a picture of mum and a very pregnant Tracy (she's due towards the end of next month).

We had a great day all around! We stopped at the Honeybee Centre on the way out since they were having an open house. I was disappointed that there wasn't as much going on in terms of actually talking about the bees and making honey though. There were a few presentations and demos, but we weren't there at the right time. Kyle was happy though because he got to go in the bouncy castle! After that, we stopped and grabbed a Little Caesars pizza and some breadsticks for lunch and stopped at the store I work in to get something for mum. Then it was off to see them!

Had a great visit and totally forgot about taking pictures other than the park ones, so there aren't any of the guys! Mum and dad made a great dinner with some barbequed chicken, bread and salads! Then Kyle was more than a little happy that there was ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert! We didn't end up leaving until going on 7, so since Nathan never did end up having a nap, he was one tired little boy. Of course, he had no interest in sleeping until we were 5 minutes from home!

Thanks for the great day mum and dad!

Supplies: Misc cardstock. Patterned paper and tag and Deja Views. Rub-on greeting is Making Memories. Ink is Versacolour Baby Blue. Deco Scissors for scalloping are Provo Craft.

These are a couple of recent projects. This was all pretty much done with goodies from my Scrapperie Glad Tidings Kit and was a fun and quick one to do. Just did a card with the leftovers!

Not too much going on around here. Worked until 10 last night though I actually thought I was working until midnight!! I'm on again at 1 - 6:30 today for a cover shift and then hopefully a relaxing evening.

Think we're going to my parent's tomorrow for dinner, so that'll be nice. On Monday it's off to resign mortgage paperwork!!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Our Little Graduate!

What a fun afternoon!! OK, so I can't say it went quite as planned, but we had fun anyway. I was sort of rushed getting ready and a little stressed out because the dryer wasn't working and the pants I was going to wear and Nathan's outfit were wet! Then, Nathan only slept about an hour, so I was worried about him being cranky. Sophia didn't sleep too long either, which meant I was trying to get ready with 3 kids awake too!

George got home not too long before the ceremony, so he went and quickly got changed. Brian picked up Sophia early (*thanks again!) and we got ourselves organized and off we went. Kyle has an outfit that Nana bought him that he loves and there's a shirt and matching sweater. Well, Sue (his teacher) has warned us not to dress them too warmly, but he did NOT want to take off the sweater and I was afraid of upsetting him before we even got in there. It sounds like the same thing happened when Sue suggested he take it off, so he wore it in.

I was very pleased when all the kids filed in and they were smiling and wearing their caps and gowns - just sooo cute! We got very lucky and had a seat almost directly in front of where Kyle was sitting. I was excited to see that when the singing started at the beginning, he was singing away and doing the actions and everything because lately that's not been his thing. He was in a great mood!

They started to call the kid's names to come and get their scroll and stand with the teachers for a picture. Sue called his name 3rd or 4th, but when she did, he started crying! I felt so badly and didn't really know what was wrong. We got him to come and sit with us and they moved on. I stripped off the gown and his sweater because he was really hot and then he said he was "sick" which for him now means his nose is bothering him. He sat with me for a few minutes while they finished and by the time they mentioned snacks across the hall, he was all good again!! I'm wondering if it was a bad combination of hot, tired and being a little overwhelmed maybe...

Anyway, we went across the hall and got some snacks and they showed a slide show thing (though on computer of course!) of the kids throughout the year. It was great to see all the pictures and, of course, one of the ones of Kyle was him doing a funny face and posing - BIG surprise!! A very enjoyable afternoon.

We have a teacher meeting next Thursday and then that's it for preschool... onto Kindergarten in the fall. Incredibly hard to believe!

Well, better be off to bed here! I work again tomorrow...

Back to some scrappy goodness!

OK here we go again with some scrapbooking again - FINALLY right?! I did this layout on the weekend as part of a crop at YMBD and then did the card with scraps afterwards.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned Paper is Arctic Frog and Chatterbox. Journaling blocks are from YMBD. Title lettering is American Crafts Thickers. Misc brads and buttons.

Supplies: Misc cardstock. Patterned paper is Arctic Frog. Orange paper is Piggy Tales. Star felt is Queen and Co. Brads are Making Memories. Stamp is 3 Bugs in a Rug.

Well, it's also a big day around here today because Kyle has his preschool graduation today. George is managing to come home a little early and Brian is also coming to pick up Sophia early (Thank you!), so that the 4 of us to go. Kyle's quite excited that we're all going to be there. We're taking the camera and camcorder, so we'll see what we get!

An Un-Birthday!

OK, so this was our class at preschool on Monday and a fun one it was. I wrote earlier about all the running around we did that day and how the kids even had late morning naps (thankfully!). Because it was the last day and especially because we were celebrating Kyle's birthday, Nathan and I stayed for class as well. Nathan was so excited about being able to stay for once.

Kyle got to pick the treat he wanted me to take for snack and he didn't pick cupcakes or cookies! Nope! He was very sure of what he wanted - POPSICLES! And the best part was that the kids had been running around and it was a great treat for them. The best part was that Kyle was happy!

Kyle's birthday isn't until almost the end of the month, but because there won't be any school then, we got to celebrate early and he was the only kid with a summer birthday! They sing Happy Birthday and then let them put their felt cupcake together with all the parts they like. He seemed to really enjoy it! The first picture is afterwards and, of course, when I asked him to smile, I got a funny face! Oh to be almost 5!

Let's see, not too much else going on here right now. Mum and dad were out to visit this morning, so I could make a quick trip up to the dr. for a pain I'd been having for a few days. Dr. said nothing serious and to take some Advil, Vitamin E and lower the caffeine Photobucket for a week or so and see if that does the trick! It was great to see mum and dad too though since it's been a little while.

I'm going for a massage tonight thankfully. I've had bad headaches for the last couple of weeks because of my neck, so I'm hoping I'll feel better afterwards! I have some fun scrappy news, but I'll get to that another time...

Cheers,
