Want some scrapping inspiration?

Well, here a great way to work on getting some things done and maybe win some great prizes in the process!  Scrapdango is having their crowned competition and you can check out all the details...  Come on over and join!

With all my teaching, I haven't been playing with all my own stuff as much as I'd like to get back to doing some more, so I'm planning on playing...  Just want to relax and have fun and join some challenges!

I've actually started!

OK, so I knew I had to make my in-laws a calendar this past Christmas since I hadn't made them one the previous year and got hints about it all year long!  I had given them one the year before that and hadn't realized quite how big a hit it was until I didn't make them one!  Lesson learned...

Now, I knew about this little project all year long and yet ended up creating almost all of it on Boxing Day before we went to their house for dinner!  I decided I wasn't going to do that this year and to help me, I offered to post a Calendar Challenge for Challenge Masters and then actually at Scrapperie as well!  If you play on both sites, it's a 2 for 1 deal!

The above page is the current challenge which is...
Create your page for the month of Fenruary (with or without pictures depending on the type of calendar you're doing) and include something that wouldn't normally be considered a "scrapbooking product". This could mean something recycled (like the packaging from a toy I used in my layout), an office product, a piece of fabric - it's endless! As long as you wouldn't normally find it in your lss, it's all good for this challenge.

I can't possibly tell you how good it feels to be working on this well in advance and know that one of my Christmas presents will be taken care of well before Christmas!

This was the page I did for the challenge last month for the first page of the calendar.  I thought I had posted it actually and realized I hadn't.  I can post the pages here without worry either since my in-laws won't see them. (No internet if you can believe it?!  Can't imagine!).  You'll be seeing more in the months to come!  Come and play!

Guess it's off to bed for me!

Scrapdango's "Crowned" Competition

Scrapdango is celebrating 3 years, and we are doing it in style again with our very own “Crowned Pageant” contest.

Okay, have you heard of the CW’s new show “Crowned?”…..Well if you haven’t you can come check out our version of “Crowned” ScrapDango style!

Come join us for 4 weeks of Crowned Competition ScrapDango style! There will be weekly pageant competition challenges that will challenge your creativity. Each week someone will be SASHED Princess of Scrapdango. (Prizes involved too!)

Is there a catch….well of course…it wouldn’t be fun if there wasn’t a catch. NO ONE gets sent home. You all have to live/scrap and experience PAGEANT LIFE with each other for the 4 weeks for the month of February.

You will be competing for points. Each week the DT will award points 1-10 for each contestant’s creation. The contestant with the most points at the end of the competition goes home with an awesome prize package! (Including a Guest Design Spot that includes a full kit)

If you are lucky enough to be SASHED, you will be getting some extra goodies along the way as well. The DT will choose one contestant who was the favorite for that week to be “Sashed.” You may only win this one time during the compettion.

There will be other challenges along the way as well, such as scavenger
hunts, posting challenges, games, etc. These are voluntary, but they do help you to accumulate more points.

The weekly pageant challenges are mandatory. The only way you will be de-sashed and leave the Pageant is if you fail to do the weekly challenges.

We at Scrapdango want this contest to be a little different. We want to get to know our existing members better and to make some new members in the process.

To play you must visit the forums, say hello and register in the Official sign up“Crowned” Thread.

So toss in some makeup, an evening gown, and bathing suit, along with your scrappin bags and pick your bedroom in the Crowned House here at ScrapDango!

The first challenge will be issued February 1st. Sign up in official sign in thread.

A Scrappy Afternoon

Well, things were quiet for a bit around here this afternoon because I decided to see if Kyle wanted a rest while Nathan had his nap. Kyle didn't have a great sleep last night, so I thought he might be tired and sure enough, he fell asleep almost right away. Since it was quiet, I thought I'd try one of the Scrapperie weekly challenges that also currently count for the Scrap-A-Lympics Contest that they're doing!

This was a lift challenge of Beth Price and I used my Estate Sale Scrapperie kit.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned paper is MME 29th Street. Clock die cut is MME. Lettering for title is Making Memories (small lettering) and American Crafts foam Thickers. The acrylic pieces are Maya Road. Misc. buttons. Ribbon is American Crafts. Ink for distressing is Palette Burnt Umber. Pen used was American Crafts Slick Writer.

Maybe I'll get a chance to do something scrappy again tonight with any luck!

Kyle is doing OK though still has his ups and downs. Every time I think we've turned a corner, we seem to take a step back, but I think that's normal. He doesn't want to eat a lot yet, but we're working on it slowly with some soft foods and hope that little by little it keeps improving. We have an appt with the doctor that did the surgery on Thursday for a check-up too to make sure all's well.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

I wanted to post the mini book I did for my mum for her birthday that was part of the new challenge at Get Your Scrap On! We had a mini book challenge and there's a great prize for this week's challenge too, so go check it out!!

Foam lettering on the cover is American Crafts. Letter rub-ons on the cover are Creative Imaginations. Felt stars are Queen and Co.

Well, think that's about all I have time for for now, but I'll be back soon! Promise!

Inspiration Book Cover

OK, so I got inspired today by Meg who's on my Scrapperie Tres Chic Girls Design Team! She posted a challenge over at ScrapWords and showed a sample of a scrap-related inspiration book. I decided that I'd simply use one from around here before investing in something new since I like the idea, but I'm not sure how it's going to work for me. I got this sketch book ages ago at an art store for something else and then never used it, so here we go...

Supplies: Misc art book. Making Memories Journaling block. Kelly Panacci by Sandylion label sticker. Lettering by American Crafts Thickers and Doodlebug stickers. "inspire" rub-ons are L'il Davis. Flower is Heidi Swapp. Misc. eyelet. Flourish by Autumn Leaves. "Good times, Good people, Good memories" stamp is Creative Imaginations Creative Cafe. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber.

Now, I just need to put this to good use with challenge info, sketches, layout and product ideas and other scrappy goodness! Wish me luck!

Cheers,
Colleen

Scrapperie March Madness!

It's time for some March Madness at Scrapperie! We have lots of crazy fun in store for you; we are going to play games, have fun challenges, giveaways, and we are also having a referral contest with a rockin cool prize! You don't want to miss it!

The other Tres Chic Girls and I have something exciting planned for you...

All you have to do to is make a minimum of 10 posts per day starting on March 1 and ending on March 31 to be elligible for the random drawings for RAKs. If you get your 10 posts, you will then be entered into a drawing for a fabulous RAK! We will be giving away 2 RAKS per week, on pre-determined days, but we aren't going to tell you which days we are giving them away because we want it to be a surprise! So get those posts in, because you never know which will be your lucky day!!

We are also going to have a little fun and play some Layout Tag. What is layout tag you ask? Well, it's like the Telephone Game (the game where you whisper a phrase to the person next to you and keep going until you get to the last person and then see how much the phrase has changed) except we will be doing it with a layout.

Sign ups and details for our Layout Tag game are posted now too. We're taking sign-ups until March 4th! The Mad Hatters and March Hares will be playing soon!

For the referral contest, all you have to do is refer someone, and you along with your referral will be entered into a drawing. The prize will be announced soon, but I promise, y'all are going to LOVE it! Make sure to tell them I sent you when you register!

There are challenges, prizes, and tons of chit chat and fun! We hope you come and play!
Cheers,
Colleen
