More snow?? Seriously?!?

My picture of the day could easily be the dump of snow that we're currently getting yet again. They were calling for the rain to start later today and continue for the next 3 days, but instead, we're getting another dump of snow. I was at work when it started and by the time I started heading home, it was already not very nice. It was a 30-40km/h drive home most of the way, but I made it safe and sound. Kyle's supposed to go back to school in the morning, so we'll check things out then!

January 4th {Project 365) Picture of the Day
I worked all day today (even started a little early to get some extra stuff done in the store) and since coming home, I put the kids to bed and ate to start and then have been listening to the Canucks game and checking out some of my regular sites!

I love what my friend, Kim, is doing with with her Project 365 stuff! You should check it out HERE! I think she's inspired me to try something similar though I might do wallet sized pictures to get a week on a page, but I'm not sure.

Not sure what else I'll manage to get done tonight, but George is home tomorrow thankfully, so maybe I can get a few more things done that didn't get accomplished this weekend. Might try and scrap a little tonight too before I head to bed!

Have a fantastic week!

Snowy Saturday

Well, I'll start with something scrap related with the New Year's card I sent out to some people since if you had one coming to you, it should have gotten there by now I hope! (Sorry for the bad picture, but it was taken with my old camera in bad lighting!) I did some of these with the silver background dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, but decided it was too much and that simpler was better in this case.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Misc silver paper. Patterned paper is Stemma. Stamp is Amuse. Ink is Palette Noir Black. Misc ribbon.

January 3rd {Project 365} Photo of the Day

This is how I start every morning - fresh Starbucks coffee beans and the wonderful aroma that they create. I went to get more beans the other day and they had the Christmas Blend on sale, so I figured, why not?! Love that first cup of hot java in the morning

It hasn't been the most exciting of days and my plans were sort of shot since George got called into work this morning about 9:30 and is still there. The overtime is great, but now I don't know when I'm going to get some boots and I really do need some for getting Kyle to school this coming week since we still have a ton of snow and we walk to school. And, of course, the reason George went to work again today is that it's snowing again and has been since about midnight last night and hasn't stopped!!

I was thinking that we were going to all go to the mall today and I'd get boots and the kids could go to the toy store. Their great aunt and uncle were very generous and got them gift certificates to Toys R Us and then Kyle also has one for Build a Bear. Thought we could do all this and maybe have a little lunch in the mall, but those plans went to pot when George got called to work. We can't go tomorrow either because as long as I can get there, I'm going to work myself!

So, it was a quiet day at home with the kids. They were both up crazy early, so they napped though Kyle's was only about an hour, so he'll be going to bed early after getting up at about 4am with what he said was a bad dream. I watched Mamma Mia this afternoon and quite enjoyed it, but what's not to like in a movie with Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and such great music?!

The boys went out for a bit and I had to, of course, get out my camera and try out the video on it! I'm playing with getting it upload to post here, so it'll have to wait for now!

Have a fabulous evening and enjoy your Sunday!

Project 365

OK, so I'm committed to doing Project 365 this year and though I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to scrap/display/use all the pictures yet, I do want to start getting some posted. Since I've been using my new camera, that meant figuring out how to get them off my camera and onto my computer, so I spent a little time just DOing that this afternoon!

These first ones were actually pictures that George took (yes, I let him touch my new camera! hee hee). I can't say I love having my picture taken, but the concentration here when I was scrapping is priceless!

This is just a funny one that I took of the boys on New Year's Eve when we were getting ready to decorate the cake we'd made and they were pretty excited about helping with that!

January 1st Picture of the Day
Yes, we started the year with a cold and somewhat snowy day, but it did clear up. We hung out at home and took it easy. After dinner, we went out for a drive and picked up a couple of movies! George and I watched The Dark Knight last night and thought it was really well done.

January 2nd Pictures of the Day
George had to go back to work today, so it's another relaxing day at home with the boys. Sophia was supposed to be here, but she's sick. When I called this morning to find out how Sophia was doing, I found out that Tracy had been sick all night too. I sure hope we can manage to avoid this bug, but we'll have to wait and see.

OK, well, not too much else to go on about for now! Just having some fun planning classes for February and going to work tonight. Nathan is in bed and supposed to be napping, but seems to be playing more than napping! Kyle is busy playing with his new Lego helicopter that he got for Christmas!

Have a fabulous weekend!

An End and a Beginning...

I have to admit that I love this time of year. It's a time to reflect and appreciate all that's happened over the last year, but it's also a time full of possibility for what is to come in the new year. I feel so inspired here this morning going through all the goodness on my list of Google Reader blogs, so I'm going to post a few things that I'll be thinking about in the new year.

The first is Ali Edwards "One Little Word" idea. I have been thinking about this for a bit and the first word that came to me was simply "do". I have changed my mind a few times and have had different variations of the word like achieve, but the reality is that these two tiny letters sum up so much that I've decided to keep them as my word for 2009 and I'll be posting more about this soon! Check out the One Little Word blog for inspiration too!

I also got inspired by an online friend, Kim, and her post about Project 365. I started this last year too and quickly bailed in frustration with my camera largely. The idea is that you take a picture a day and another friend, Joelle, has done an amazing job with this this year! Way to go girl! Now that I do have a new camera, I think Kim's helped inspire me to get back to this and see if I can put 2009 in pictures!

I know that the feeling I have now won't last every day of 2009 and there will no doubt be good and bad days, but it's important to remind yourself on those bad days that there is optimism on the good ones and so much possibility. I feel like this is going to be a year of action and decision somehow though I'm not even sure I know the parameters of that yet. It's time to make some changes in my day to day and I'm ready for that.

I'm also realizing that getting in front of the camera is a priority this year. Now that I have my new camera, I've given my old one to Kyle and he wants to take my picture all the time. George has been taking some pictures of the boys and I lately too and though I don't really like the way I look in terms of my weight, the reality is that that is the here and now and the boys still deserve pictures of me and of us together.

Changing that here and now weight is also on the list of things to work on this year. I know it is for so many people and that nothing will change overnight and without some decisions and action on my part. I know what I need to do and it's a matter of action. Not every day will be perfect, but the doing is the important part.
Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better man.
~Benjamin Franklin

I hope that everyone has a wonderful 2009 and I look forward to seeing what it holds!
Happy New Year everyone!
Cheers,

PS I'm going to try and post a little 2008 summary in the next day or so as well - hopefully with some pictures!
