Clever movie...

After a slow start to the day for me, I spent some time with my boys and got ready to go teach my class. After work, I came home to a nice dinner all ready for me and then we went out to grab a movie. I'd heard that Burn After Reading was good, but didn't know a lot about it in terms of the plot. Well, I was definitely pleasantly surprised! It started a little slowly and took a bit to get into, but is very well written and full of great performances! Check it out!

Off to bed for me since I work tomorrow and it's probably going to be busy with a 40% off sale!

Beautiful Cold and Sunny Winter Day!

So it wasn't the warmest day when I went to take Kyle to school this morning, but it did warm up a little by lunch. The boys still needed hats and mittens though!

I was standing in the kitchen after dropping Kyle off at school and getting myself another cup of coffee when I saw this out the window and knew it had to be my picture for today though when I got out there I found another too...

The sand bucket in the snow with the sun shining on it just seemed so funny! And then, of course, the abandoned dump truck in the snow too! Cute!

Nathan walked this morning to school and back and we even went a little early when we were picking Kyle up so he could play a bit. The boys all played a little once school was done too and we came home for lunch, Nathan's nap, some class prep for me and a generally pretty quiet afternoon. I'd better go get myself ready for work though now since I should also put some dinner on before George gets home!

An eventful day!

Yes, this was lunch today! And it was the beginning of a fun afternoon! A couple that I met last year when Kyle was in preschool were in need of a couple of hours of childcare this afternoon for their 2 girls. One of them is Kyle's age and goes to the same school this year though it's too bad they're not in the same class because they have fun together. Their younger daughter is almost the same age (I think born within a couple of weeks) as Nathan. Their Nanny dropped them off here after Kindergarten and I had lunch prepped and just had to turn on the sandwiches for grilled cheese when we got home!

OK, so not everyone ate all their lunch since I had the boys, Sophia and the 2 other girls - they were a little distracted! It was a really fun afternoon though and I didn't even try to lay Nathan down since he was so wound up. Sophia on the other hand had to have a nap since she woke up at 3:30am this morning and decided she wasn't going back to sleep! The funny thing is that she did sleep through all the chaos and noise this afternoon!

Kyle had so much fun that he asked if they were coming again tomorrow! He was quite sad when I told him they weren't! And I have to say that as much fun as it was for an afternoon, I know I couldn't do that full-time and have 5 or 6 kids here regularly. I'll stick to the 3 (4 when Tracy goes back to work) I have!

Oh and I wrote about the snow yesterday... Yes, we did get a blast of what's hopefully the end of the snow. I had class last night and went to work and the drive out wasn't horrible. However, by the time class was over the roads had a nice layer of ice under the snow and they were treacherous. I decided I'd better listen to the traffic station here and they said they couldn't keep up with all the accidents. Needless to say, it was a long, slow drive home at about 30km the whole way. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I pulled in the driveway!

It was sure cold this morning, but I think I lot of what we got here ended up melting at least on the roads. I'd be happy if that were the end of it!

Better go get some sleep since I have a late night again tomorrow night at work!

End of February SNOW?!

Yes, if you look out the window at our place right now, this is what you'll see - big white flakes. I'm so not excited about this because I'm supposed to be going to work once George gets home to teach a class tonight. The worst part is that it's been snowing all day at mum and dad's further out in the valley. Doesn't bode well for how much we're going to get...

Wait and see!

Long day!

Well, I just got the boys in bed and am waiting for George to get home. He was up early and out of the house shortly after 5am for a conference thing in Victoria at Butchart Gardens. He called a little over an hour ago saying he'd be on the 7pm ferry back.

Trace brought Sophia over this morning and we had a little chat. She kindly took Kyle up to school so I laid Matthew down for a nap here. They went to Matthew's doctor's appt after he woke up and I went and took the kids up to get Kyle. Lunches, naps and nothing really out of the ordinary this afternoon.

A strange evening without George around though... It all just sort of melted together! Makes me sure appreciate having him here to help with the boys and to spend time with! I'm going to go watch a little American Idol and prep for my class tomorrow night!

Night Out...

Just a quick post since George and I are enjoying a quiet night. I took the boys to work with me this morning and mum and dad met me there and took the boys home to their place for the weekend. I worked and then George took me out for dinner to a Mexican place we hadn't been to and it was really good.

We're enjoying a quiet night and hope to sleep in a little. Think we might go for breakfast on our way out to get the boys.

A quiet day!

Well, with the boys still at the tail end of their bugs, we stayed at home and hung out today. Nathan napped this afternoon and I got a few things done.

Just a quick post tonight with a couple more creations from the February Scrapdango kit!

Think I'm going to make it an early night since I'm working tomorrow! The boys are going to stay at Nana and Grandpa's tomorrow night though!

Long day!

It was a long one today with Sophia here in the morning though Tracy and Matthew stayed as well because mum came over too. I asked if she'd come and watch the boys while I went to the dentist for my last visit for a bit (I hope!). We had a nice visit, enjoyed a good chat and then I went to my appt.

I was home by lunch, Trace took off and mum and I had a chat before she left. The little ones went down for a nap though Sophia never did sleep. Nathan slept for an hour and then woke up grumpy as anything and proceeded to cry for about 45 minutes while I was hoping to get ready for work - teaching. So not like him! He finally calmed down and I got myself ready and dinner on.

Left as soon as George went to work and went and taught my Quick and Easy Cards class. I had fun and hope the people in class did too. I used the fabulous Weathervane October Afternoon papers for 6 cards and then they also get the Techinque Tuesday sentiment stamps to keep that they use in the class. There's one more of these classes on Saturday February 28th from 2-4 if anyone local is interested.

I really am enjoying teaching. I've asked for a whiteboard though as the teacher in me needs one! lol Better run for now!

Cheers,

A sick day...

So we had Kyle's first official sick day where I had to call the school and let them know he wasn't coming. Even the woman in the office asked if he was sick when I said he wouldn't be there since she said they never see his name. I told her he was and that it was his first absence! I think I jinxed him because his teacher and I were talking about attendance on Monday and she was saying he was the only one left in class with perfect attendance.

Now my little monkey LOVES school! He was quite upset when I first told him I didn't think he should go and at one point just said, "No! I'm going!". I finally talked him into staying home by telling him we'd find him some printing practice on the computer that we could print and he could still do some work like he would be doing at school. He was really excited about some of the stuff I found - so much so that he's not even eating his lunch!

He's just about off here for a nap and I'm going to do a few things and watch Young and The Restless while I putter! Wish I had something creative to share today, but with trying to get rid of this bugs and the boys being sick, I've had no energy and sleep whenever humanly possible.

Speaking of sleeping though, the boys were up really early this morning again (5:30am), but seemed not too bad. They played and hung out though Nathan was a little whiny off and on. Around 11am, he wanted to sit on the sofa and cuddle, so I did, but about 2 minutes later, he was sound asleep in my lap!! Don't think that's ever happened before! Laid him in bed and he's still there though I'm going to have to wake him shortly if he's ever going to sleep tonight! Crazy!

Well, I'd better get a move on and I might nap for a half hour too since I'm teaching tonight!

Quick card!

Just popping in before going to bed since we're fighting bugs here still in 0ur house. This was a quick card I did for Kyle's friend's birthday the other day!

Better get to bed here and make sure I keep my voice for this week since I have 2 classes later this week!

Scrapdango Reveal Day!

Yes, it's reveal day again over at Scrapdango, so here are three pieces I did with the fabulous February kit full of Kaiser Craft goodies!

There's more to come, but with being sick, I haven't been able to finish off what I've got going. My throat is sore now and I'm worried about that since the last time that happened, I couldn't talk for 2 weeks! I have 2 classes to teach this week!!

Well, took George to work so that Kyle could go to the party he was invited to today. It was at one of those play places, so I took Nathan as well and we just stayed there. It wasn't really long enough for me to just leave Kyle and I wasn't sure how he'd do without me there. I'm exhausted though and would like to be in bed, but instead, I'm off to get George from work here shortly. And then it'll be off to bed for me... and another supposedly full day tomorrow too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, we had a fairly low key day actually! I slept in since I worked late and I'm trying to kick this cold. Think the Cold FX is helping and only wish I could give it to Nathan because he's a sadly sick little monkey.

Got up and we did our Happy Valentine's Day thing! I got cards and chocolates for the boys and George and guess what I got - the same! Spent a little time together and then I had to get ready for work. Came home and hung out, put the boys to bed, scrapped a bit, spent a little time on the computer and I'll be heading to bed for an early night once I post this!

I did want to post the Valentine's cards I did for the Card Sketch a Day blog.

The top one is the one George got this morning!

Well, think I'd better pack it in and hope it's not a long night. Nathan has a real chest cold and has been waking up coughing at night, so we'll see.

The Odyssey Expedition

It's one of those days when I was planning on blogging about a whole list of things and have since forgotten and run out of time since I need to get ready for work here!

Just happened upon this little thing today called the Odyssey Expedition and you really should check it out! What an amazing idea... He's attempting to step foot in every nation on Earth without flying anywhere! And is also raising money for Water Aid.

Have a great night! Need to go get myself organized for work!

Happy Belated Blogoversary to Me!

Well, it appears that I actually somehow missed my blogging anniversary, but when I looked back at the post I made that day, it was ironic that I spent time that day looking back at older posts and enjoying one of the reason I blog in the first place!

OK, now I'm not going to pretend I'm good about getting things in the mail, but I do have a little scrapping blogoversary candy and I'll try and post a picture tomorrow. Any comment made between now and the end of the day on Sunday the 22nd will get you an entry!

And if you blog, why do you do it?

Better go get some sleep and see if I can stave off whatever tickle I have in my sinuses right now! I've been around so many sick people that nothing would surprise me! Already got out the Cold FX!

Class Tonight!

Well, need to finish getting myself ready to shoot off to work as soon as George gets home since I'm teaching tonight! I've got my So Happy Together class tonight, so should be fun! I'm really enjoying teaching again and love that the students want to be there!!

Looking Back...

I have to say that I'm really glad I started to blog. I spent some time looking back at pictures and funny little things I'd blogged not long after Nathan was born today and so many things came rushing back. You know, those little things that we think we're never going to forget, but we somehow do.

So spend a little time going back and looking at what's on your blog today...

Project 365 Catch-up!

Just a quick post with some catch-up on my daily pictures! The first one is my favourite knife and cutting something that the kids eat every day around here! And thankfully, lately at least, that apple a day seems to be keeping the doctor away too!

This is Kyle's favourite pose when he plays on the computer, so George actually took this one yesterday. Of course, what I saw when I looked at this was the pjs on the floor and the cup and plate on the table! hee hee

The boys found another toy though it wasn't anything we paid for of course! We got a new composting box for the backyard and it came in this cardboard box that the boys played in all morning. Kyle had been in the box and kicked his leg out and Nathan started laughing hysterically. The next picture I took was Nathan trying to shove his foot back in the box!

Well, another episode of the Bachelor tonight and it was an interesting one. The girl I thought might go home, Molly, didn't though he sent home the one that I think was the youngest thinking she wasn't ready. Next week should be a good one with romantic dates in New Zealand and the girl that rejected him on the last Bachelorette, Deanna, showing up!

A wonderful Sunday...

OK, so I didn't get to sleep in today, but it was one of those nice, relaxing days where I spent some time with the boys and George and also got to just hang out. We did our grocery shopping this morning and had fun all of us going out.

Now, one of the things I like to do that many of you may not know is to watch poker on TV. I think I'm might just be a self-confessed poker junkie at this point. For anyone that does know who this is in the picture, he's one of my favourite poker players and a Canadian to boot - Daniel "Kid Poker" Negreanu. So, one of the things I did today was spent some time this afternoon watching poker. Now, I also admit to a little nap in there somewhere too!

I do have my picture of the day, but it's still on my camera and I need to think about getting to bed, so I'm not going to play with that tonight! Want to catch up on a few household things tomorrow and do some scrapping! Other than that and getting Kyle to school, I think we're good!
Off to bed for me!!

Late night...

Well, I just woke up after falling asleep on the sofa and really need to get to bed! Just popped in to check a few things online and then head for some sleep. Worked again today and then Sophia and Matthew were here for a bit this evening while Tracy and Brian went out to dinner. George survived having all four kids for an hour or so himself tonight while I got home!

Now, Amy has tagged me for a fun picture tag and here's how this works...

Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
1. Pick the 6th Folder, then select the the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
3. Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.

This was a picture we took Christmas 2007 of the gang of us! I was playing with it one day and added the borders, but still haven't scrapbooked it!! I'm going to tag the following people and will be letting them know tomorrow since I need sleep!!
Lucy
Sandi
Kim
Heather
Lynn

Off to bed for me!!

A little of this...

...and a little of that! Well, it's been one of those days where I've been sort of all over the map, but got quite a bit done in the long run! I'm even pretty much ready to go to work tonight and know what I'm going to make for dinner.

Supplies: Cardstock is Bazzill. Patterned papers from October Afternoon, Bo Bunny and Basic Grey Journaling block is October Afternoon. Buttons are Foofala. Rub-ons are Scenic Route. Stickers for the title are Basic Grey and American Crafts Vinyl Thickers. "Good Stuff" sticker is October Afternoon. Chipboard heart is Making Memories and paint for it is also Making Memories. Misc ribbon from the kit. Ink is Palette Burnt Umber.

I did this layout with the Scrapperie Apple Orchard kit that I simply LOVE! It was a sample layout for the Stash Crasher Challenge that I just posted over at WeScrap for their Love Fest Online Crop this weekend! Come on over and check it out!

Nathan begged me to make muffins again this morning (the second day in a row!), so this is my picture of the day!

Funny how a single day puts such a different perspective on things though I even felt better after blogging last night and looked at all the wonderful little parts of my day that had felt so long and awful!

Better go try and finish off a few more things before I have to head out!

Not So Thrilling Thursday...

Well, hate to say it, but it was just another day around here!
- kids up and ready to take Kyle to school
- nice walk in the sunshine up to school
- made muffins with Sophia and Nathan
- picked up Kyle at school and the kids played a bit up there since it was so nice
- home for lunches
- little ones down for naps
- more "issues" with Nathan and his Pull-Ups and potty training
- Kyle and I hung out this afternoon
- pizza for dinner
- a little scrapping and some TV

Nothing really out of the ordinary, so I guess that's not such a bad day after all when I think about...
- the boys climbing into bed with me for a bit this morning
- our nice walk in the sunshine
- the nice chat I had with Tracy
- a wonderful cuddle with Kyle this afternoon
- Brian bringing me a coffee when he picked up Sophia
- not having to make dinner
- a relatively relaxing evening
- a nice chat with my mum too

Yeah, sometimes days that aren't that thrilling can be good too... It's just all in how you look at it!

Looooooong Day of No Potty Training!

OK, this is going to be short and sweet since it seems like it's been the longest day dealing with wet diapers! Yes, we're trying to get Nathan potty trained and I feel like I might as well be banging my head against the wall some days.

Nathan hates being wet and yet won't go on the potty. He's taken to removing the Pull-Ups after he pees and then coming to me with it in his hand and a bare bum though today he took off one that had more than that in it too. He delays at bedtime by asking to go potty and then, of course, tells me he's not going to tinkle (**BIIIIG surprise!) and then giggles incessantly. I knew it was a delay tactic for bed, but also feel like I can't say no when he asks to go (which, of course, he has also figured out!). We've tried the underwear too and he does the same thing - pees, takes them off and then lets you know.

Anyway, I'm sure that's enough of the potty tales to last you a while, so I'll leave it at that! It's a good thing he's got those big dimples and he's so darn cute because it's hard to be mad at him as a result!

Cheers,
