My First {Snapshot of Saturday}

There's a new challenge from Shirley to take some a picture or two every Saturday to give a snapshot of your life. I love this idea, so I too this one this morning of Kyle.

I don't know why we even bother buying toys! This is the box from the highchair we just got from mum and dad and Tracy and Brian as a gift for Nathan. Kyle has adopted the box as his hiding place! He also found a fairly large diaper box the other day that I had flattened for recycling, but he now gets in it and puts his train hat one and thinks he's a trainman! We have a million toys he could play with, but these two boxes are far and away his favs right now. Figures!

LOVE it! I was just talking to someone the other day about all the electronic gadgets and toys out there and how kids are losing imagination. My girls love LOVE boxes, pots, pans, envelopes, bags, paper.... I find forts made out of the most interesting items in my house.... LOL

we used to laugh when i did daycare. had a little saying we used a LOT. "if you give a kid a box..." (kind of like those children's books "If You Give a Pig a Pancake"!) we had a bulletin board on one wall with that title over it for photos of my toddlers playing with boxes. anytime one of us would get our hands on a big box (in good condition, clean & free of anything that might pose a safety risk of course), we would bring it into the room & let them have at it: banging on it, crawling in it, coloring on it. they loved nothing more than a great big promising box.

How funny!! Kids just love boxes... Wish they'd just sell the boxes that toys come in sometimes instead of making the packaging so difficult to get into!

Great Saturday Snapshots!
