So, Kyle was desperate to go back out side and play on the swingset. He's had some trouble getting balanced and staying on the slightly slippery swings, but we mastered it this afternoon with a little coaching and some practice. He was quite proud of himself and wanted to go out again after dinner and play some more, so I went out with him.

This is what he said...
"I love my swingset!"
thinking...
"I think we should get another red one."

He told me this very matter-of-factly, so I asked him where we'd put it and he proceeded to give me directions to the front yard ("go straight and turn and the put it in the back yard" - aka the front yard!) and told me it would be good there. You gotta love how kids think - if one swingset is good, then two would be better, right? Can't blame him
when I think that way about lots of things!

I read this quote in the back of my new Card Creations magazine and after really enjoying the bit of time I spent outside with Kyle laughing and playing on the swings tonight, it really came back to me!

Enjoy the little things, for one day, you may look back
and realize that they were the big things.

Remember to enjoy the little things today and leave me a comment to let me know what it is you enjoyed!

The 2Peas Blog Challenge was sort of a random photo thing, so here's mine:
This was taken at my aunt and uncle's place just outside San Francisco that I recently blogged about and there were so many of us staying there that this is what the entrance looked like!

Cheers,
Colleen

thanks for dropping by my blog and saying hi Colleen - always love meeting new people online :)
That quote is just beautiful isn't it? Something I enjoyed today was heading out with a friend for a coffee and a chat whilst watching our littlies play happily together.

I LOVED the quote, Colleen. Isn't that the truth?

The little thing I enjoyed yesterday was hearing Jacques chatting and singing almost all day.

The thing I've enjoyed, so far this morning, is getting some extra sleep in, with Jacques' good night and "late" rising (7:15 a.m.!!)

Take care!

Love the quote! My day is just starting but I did enjoy sleeping in a little bit longer this morning.
I like the shoe picture. It looks like our house when everyone is visiting too.

Hi Colleen, awesome quote and I love your random photo!! One thing I really enjoyed today was driving home (about 50 mins drive) from running errands with Jamie and hearing him laugh heartily to the Tom and Jerry DVD in the back seat :)There's nothing that cheers me more than a big, genuine laugh!

Great photo of Kyle. I agree... 2 swingsets would be better than one. You just gotta love it. Speaking of loving.... I just love that quote. It is so perfect and true. The little thing I enjoyed today was webcaming with my sister. She will be here in 8 days! We can't wait.
What a cute random photo you posted today. I love looking at shoes all lined up. I'm weird.

Perfect quote! Love the photo... looks like our place some days; but 99% of the shoes in our front entrance are usually all my daughter's....

Great post, Colleen! What a sweet photo and such a good idea about a second swingset! What's wrong with that idea?? :-) A little thing I enjoyed this evening was the smell of charcoal when I lit the grill for dinner. Great quote and reminder! Janet

I enjoyed my almost 20 year old DD sitting next to me on the couch cuddling last night. I love when she does that.
